From My Mother’s Hands to Mine: How Self Studio Began

I grew up watching my mother crochet for hours, her hands moving with quiet patience.

As a child, I’d climb onto the couch behind her and wait for the moment when a thread would become something beautiful.

Years later, after moving to Los Angeles, I found myself doing the same thing . This time not just for curiosity, but with purpose.

I wanted to take what she taught me and care, resourcefulness, craft and build something that gives back to both people and the planet.

That’s how Self Studio began: a small idea stitched from memory, now growing into a slow fashion space for handmade, upcycled design.
